A performance piece
by Carla Damaris Grant
“Where do you go after you deny God?”
Carla comes from a long line of “circuit-ridin’ preachers.” In this autobiographical one-woman show, she taps into those religious roots to deliver an energized, highly evocative performance. Sound, imagery, and storytelling combine to address an age-old fascination: the end of the world.
“Genuine, weird, honest, open, disturbing.” -- Followspot
The
first place I saw the Sun-Clothed Woman was upon the wall in my
parents' studio. My father was a prophecy teacher. He illustrated the
book of Revelation using 6 ft. pieces of butcher paper and colored
chalk. As a child I would stare for hours at the life sized drawings.
My favorite was the
"... woman clothed with the sun, and the moon under her feet, and upon
her head a crown of twelve stars: And she being with child cried,
travailing in birth, and pained to be delivered." ~Revelation 12
